So, we finally got round to actually building a website for Yellow Bike Sheds. Although we have been running for more than a year, as Yellow Bike Sheds, we have been working primarily on referrals and word of mouth … with no YBS website.

A bit like the proverbial mechanic whose car is always being fixed, this website has been in the works for a very long time. The design has gone through numerous iterations, mainly as a test bed for new ideas we had for client sites.

This site is by no means complete, but unless we put something out there now, we will keep tinkering in the workshop and never truly launch. The site is still not complete. There is still a lot of content (FAQs?) that still needs to be added to the site. Some tweaking of the design elements will also probably happen in the near future. That said, the site is more than ready to be unveiled to the public. So here it is.

You will note too that there is no fanfare surrounding the launch of this site. This is intentional.

Besides advertising our services to new and existing clients, we intend to have the blog in particular serve as a repository for great content of interest to people running websites for their small businesses, and also to other WordPress developers.

We have been using WordPress, Joomla and Drupal for many years now, and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge on what works, and more importantly, what doesn’t work. We will be sharing this knowledge on the blog. The current commitment is to have at least one informative blog post per week. If we can keep this up for a few months, we might up the frequency.

So sign up for our RSS feed, and stay informed.
