Another way of spelling out what we do, is to list many of the things that we don’t do. The list below is not complete, but hopefully covers the majority of questions that you might have. Actually, we could be persuaded to ‘do’ anything on the list below (except the Flash websites). We just require a US$10,000 deposit paid in cash before we start working.
Bike Sheds
Despite our name, we don’t build bikesheds. No. Really.
Flash Based Websites
We refuse, on principle, to develop flash based websites for any of our clients. If however, you already have a flash based website that you would like converted to a better platform, do get in touch and we could help.
Drupal + Joomla
Drupal and Joomla are great and popular CMS platforms. However, we have found that WordPress is a much better platform for small business websites. It is easier to use, easier to develop for, easier to maintain, easier to design a theme for, easier to extend via existing plugins, easier to set up on regular web hosting, easier to tune for performance … [we hope you get the picture].
E-Commerce Websites
We don’t really build ecommerce websites. 99% of the businesses on the planet do not need an ecommerce website. And 90% of the ones that have spent money getting one developed shouldn’t have. Building and operating an ecommerce website properly, takes the sort of time and resources that are not available to our typical client …. the small business. Before you object, please read this blog post on why you don’t really need an ecommerce enabled website.
